How Soul Body Fusion Helps Women in Perimenopause Come Back to Themselves

A few years ago I went so low that I genuinely thought someone had put a curse on me. I was incapacitated. I had lost the will to live and to do anything. For three weeks I had completely given up. And I say this as a clinical psychologist with 25 years of experience — someone who had every tool, who knew every approach, who had helped hundreds and hundreds of other people through their darkest moments.

None of that helped me. No psychological practice reached what was happening.

Soul Body Fusion did.

That is why I trained as a facilitator. And that is why this is one of the practices I now share with almost every woman I work with.

Who Is This Blog For?

This blog is for you if you are somewhere between 35 and 55 and something just feels off. Maybe you are in perimenopause and you know it. Maybe you suspect you might be, but nobody has confirmed it. Or maybe the word perimenopause does not even feel relevant to you right now — you just know that you feel disconnected. From yourself, from your body, from your sense of who you are and what you want from life.

That disconnection — that feeling of not quite being at home in yourself — is something I hear about constantly from women I work with. And it is exactly what Soul Body Fusion addresses.

You do not need to be in a crisis to benefit from this practice. You do not need any spiritual background, any previous experience, or even a clear idea of what your soul is. You just need to be open. That is genuinely all, because Soul Body Fusion is a practice of trust and surrender.

So What Happened?

Whether someone did put a curse on me or not is a discussion for another time. But, what I experienced was very extreme to say the least. From one day to another I lost all my motivation and drive. I have no clue if I had a sudden and temporary drop in hormone levels — which is possible during perimenopause — because I have not tested myself at that time. But I do know that these feelings were not a response to any difficult life events at the time.

That summer I was “happy go lucky” living in Greece, doing ecstatic dance sessions at the local beach at sunrise, making new friends, exploring the island and considering moving to Greece permanently when out of the blue (literally from one day to the next)  things started going wrong after they had been going really well for a while. I started sleeping really badly, stopped caring for myself (did not feel like doing food shopping, brushing my teeth, taking a shower, getting dressed, etc). I felt hopeless and miserable. All of a sudden thoughts of not wanting to be alive, not having anything to offer to my clients or friends and just being a burden, came to my head and didn’t want to leave. The strange thing was that they were not rational. I had full awareness that I have good life, I was lucky to be spending the Summer house-sitting a beautiful private villa in Naxos, working online, just met a group a local women and started feeling connected with likeminded people, yet I was laying for hours (and days) in bed, listless, staring at a wall and feeling extremely sorry for myself.

No amount of cognitive restructuring, mindfulness meditation, physical activity or speaking with friends helped. I didn’t feel like doing anything. Didn’t feel like eating. Didn’t want to go out, I felt like my life made no sense any more. Felt no excitement or enthusiasm. Life felt dull even though I was surrounded by breath-taking nature. It lasted for 3 weeks and I knew I needed to do something.

What Helped?

2 sessions with a dear friend, who is a very experienced Soul Body Fusion practitioner and teacher.

I called Ania desperate for things to change after, on a recommendation from another friend whose intervention did not make any difference to how I was.

It was very simple. You can even say that nothing really happened — yet everything changed. Ania guided me to simply lay down comfortably and open my body and heart to the “light of my Soul”. To not try to fix, or understand, anything that may be happening, but only surrender and trust that my Soul is my best healer, teacher, friend and guide. I felt markedly different within 20min, and next day even better. I did not want to believe it could be that simple. We met again for a top up a week later and in the meantime I was practicing on my own once a day.

It was so unbelievably powerful, yet so gentle and subtle, that straight away I wanted to learn more, because I knew I work with so many people who can equally benefit from it. I have been teaching and practicing mindfulness for 18 years by that point, but this felt so much more powerful. It was like Mindfulness +++.

So What Actually Is Soul Body Fusion?

Soul Body Fusion® was channeled by Jonette Crawley in 2012. Jonette is a spiritual teacher and author, and if you want to go deeper into the philosophy behind this practice, her book Soul Body Fusion is a beautiful place to start.

At its core, Soul Body Fusion is a practice that reconnects you with the Soul part of you — the deepest, truest essence of who you are. Not the version of you that is stressed, anxious, exhausted, or running on empty. The part of you that is whole, clear, and at peace.

Most of us live almost entirely in our heads. We are driven by thoughts, worries, to-do lists, and the constant pressure to figure everything out. And in perimenopause — when hormones are shifting, identity is reshaping, and everything that used to feel stable starts to feel uncertain — that disconnect between who we are on the inside and how we are living on the outside can become very painful and confusing.

Soul Body Fusion gently closes that gap. It invites your Soul — the fullest and purest version of you — to come more fully into your body, your daily life, and your experience. Not in a dramatic or overwhelming way. Quietly. Gradually. And over time, profoundly.

What Does It Actually Feel Like?

This is the question I get asked most often. And it is a fair one — because from the outside, the practice looks incredibly simple (or even as if nothing is happening). Which makes people wonder: can something this gentle really do anything?

The honest answer is that it feels different for everyone. Some people feel warmth in their body. Some feel a tingling or a lightness. Some heaviness. Some a sense of contraction. Some expansion. Some feel emotions come up and pass. Some feel nothing dramatic at all in the session — and then notice over the following days that something has quietly shifted. They feel calmer. More grounded. Less reactive. More like themselves.

After only one session, many people say they feel lighter, more connected, and more at peace. That is not marketing language — that is what people actually report. And it makes sense, because what the practice is doing is helping your nervous system settle, your soul to feel more welcome in your body, and your inner life to feel a little more spacious.

“Your soul knows the way. This practice helps you follow it.”

Why Soul Body Fusion Matters So Much in Perimenopause

Perimenopause is not just a hormonal event. It is also a time when many women begin to feel a deep call to come back to themselves — to stop performing, stop over-giving, stop living for everyone else, and finally reconnect with who they actually are underneath all of that.

But most women do not know how to do that. For so long they have been so disconnected from their own inner life — from their body, their intuition, their needs, their Soul — that they do not even know where to begin.

Soul Body Fusion gives you a place to begin. It does not require you to analyse yourself, understand your childhood, or do years of therapy first. It simply creates a space where your Soul can begin to move more freely through you. And from that space, everything else — clarity, confidence, intuition, self-trust — starts to come more naturally.

I have seen this happen with women who came to me feeling completely lost. Women who had forgotten what it felt like to feel like themselves. And after just a few sessions of Soul Body Fusion, something begins to come back. Slowly. Gently. But unmistakably.

What Are the Benefits?

Here is what women regularly experience through Soul Body Fusion practice:

  • A deeper sense of peace and calm.  Not because your life got easier — but because your relationship to it changed.
  • Stronger intuition. You start to just know things — about yourself, about situations, about what you need. That inner voice gets clearer.
  • Greater self-trust. You stop second-guessing yourself as much. You start to trust your own experience. And that everything is, as it’s meant to be.
  • Feeling more grounded and present.  Less scattered, less anxious, more able to be in your own life rather than watching it from a distance.
  • Emotional and physical wellbeing.  Many people notice improvements in sleep, mood, even physical health and a general sense of being okay — even when circumstances have not changed.
  • A sense of coming home to yourself.  This is the one that I personally value the most. That feeling of: Oh, there I am.

And unlike many things we try when we are struggling, the changes from Soul Body Fusion tend to be lasting. Because they happen at the level of the soul — not just the mind or the nervous system.

How Do You Actually Do It?

This is my favourite part to share — because when I first heard how simple the practice is, I honestly did not believe it could work. And then it did.

Here are the six steps of the Soul Body Fusion practice:

  1. Have your palms facing upward.  This is a gesture of openness and receptivity. You are signalling — to yourself and to your mind — that you are ready to receive.
  2. Be present.  Just here. Just now. Not thinking about what you need to do later or what happened yesterday. Simply be in this moment.
  3. Observe whatever you experience — with trust.  You might feel something. You might feel nothing obvious. Either is fine. Whatever comes up, meet it with curiosity rather than judgment.
  4. Do not try to fix anything.  This is not a problem-solving practice. You are not here to analyse or improve. Just be present and watch your experiences as they unfold.
  5.  Do not analyse.  Let the mind rest. If thoughts come, let them pass. You are not here to figure anything out.
  6. In your heart, set a simple intention or invitation. Something like: “May my Soul connect more fully with my body.” You do not need to say it out loud. Just feel it, simply and sincerely, in your heart.

That is it. It really is that simple. And the more regularly you practice — even just ten minutes a day — the stronger the connection becomes, and the clearer your intuition gets.

The consistency matters more than the duration. A short practice done daily will always give you more than an occasional long one.

A Final Word

Whether you are in perimenopause, approaching it, or simply in a period of your life where you feel disconnected from yourself — Soul Body Fusion is one of the gentlest and most effective ways I know to begin coming back.

You do not need to understand it fully before you try it. You do not need to believe in it. You just need to be willing to sit quietly for 10-20minutes, palms open, and let something shift.

In my experience, that is always enough to begin.
